The show takes place towards the bottom of the fort, near Maota Lake, offering an unmatched blend of pleasure that awakens all senses. The excellent use of special effects, acoustics, folk music and colorful lighting of the Fort brings alive the haunting tales and legends involving the Maharajas of the Kachhwaha dynasty who ruled Rajasthan’s capital – Jaipur.

The glorious past of the Golconda fort is narrated effectively with matchless sound and light effects in probably the biggest Sound and Light of India. The fort has seating space for 400 people at once. The show has been operating for decades now and effectively narrates the history of the Qutub Shahi dynasty (or Golconda sultanate of Hyderabad) from the 16th century spanning 171 years in the history of South India.

There are two shows daily, at 6:30 p.m. and 7.45 p.m. from November to February; the first show is always in English. On Mon, Wed and Fri, the second show is in Telegu and on the remaining days, the second show is in Hindi.
The Sound and Light show is entitled “Pride and Glory – The story of Kolkata” and gives insights into Kolkata’s cultural past and traditions. Held in the grounds of the Victoria Memorial, the show is a combination of enchanting music, glimpse of British Raj in Kolkata as well as Kolkata’s unique cultural heritage, and the romantic ambiance of the place make it a worth-watching show. Victoria Memorial was built in the memory of queen Victoria in 1912.
