The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation released Rs 75 lakh to Tadoba and Pench tiger reserves to get hold of open air minibuses for international and local tourists in the region. Rs. 50 lakh has already been released to Tadoba foundation to acquire four vehicles and Rs. 25 lakh to Pench Tiger foundation to acquire two such mini buses. Such buses are already running in Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary and now there are plans to introduce them in Pench and Taboda too. These 20- 25 seater buses will overcome the problem of high demand and less supply of vehicles in these wildlife regions.
The canters are expected to run from February 2015 and will be available for foreign and local tourists that include adults and students. These buses will be run by village eco committees.
