On Arrival Visa Increased Foreign Tourist Inflow in India

Foreign tourist influx in India grew around 41.5% in October 2014 as compared to October 2013. From the period between January and October 2014, total number of visa- on- arrivals was recorded at 21,995 as compared to 15,770 last year during the same period.

The visa- on arrival scheme which was launched initially in 2010 for countries like Finland, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and Luxembourg, has now been extended to citizens of Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos and Myanmar.
